Friday's Fave Five Moments
1. Watching my little 2 yr old's curls bouncing to & fro as she walked up the aisle as a flower girl in my nephew's wedding
2. Taking a three hour motorcycle ride thru the country with my husband.
3. My Mom found the book "A Big Ball of String" at a garage sale. Written in the 50's, was one that we had growing up and I LOVED it! Now I get to read it to my own kids.
4. My littlest has decided to fight nap times and climbs out of her crib...she has never been a cuddler or liked being rocked. Now, that is the only way that she will go to sleep! And after the strong-willed fight gets settled down, I am loving that quiet moment with her. Just holding her close. Watching her little eyelids slowly flutter shut.
5. This is probably not what I should consider a blessing....but how about if I just say this was a great moment to appreciate my child's sense of humor! Our seven yr old asked why "Daddy is 60 yrs older than Mommy?" (she actually meant "six" lol)

Friday's Fave Five
A few blessings in my life this week:
- Seeing yellow daffodils blooming. So bright and sunny! They always open up right around my birthday, so I have always though they're my b'day gift from God.
- My nephew, his fiance, and her father stayed with us this week. They spent a lot of time meeting with advisors at MSU and searching for an apt in Springfield. But we enjoyed the little bit of time we got with them. Sweet kids.
- Met a few other homeschool moms from this area. We've only been here a few short months and he winter had left us feeling pretty lonely. Such a blessing to meet new friends :)
- My mom finished writing her first book! She dedicated it to my Dad. I know he would be so proud of her.
- My husband knew I was having a crummy day and suprised me with my birthday present early...a new netbook!! So nice to be mobil again.

Friday's Fave Five

Taking note of the simple blessings in my life this past week. Learning to not take things for granted.
1. The sun is shining and its 50 degrees. The kids are playing out on the deck. Beautiful reminder of things to come. I adore winter & snow, but we seem to be getting cabin fever.
2. After a long night up with a sick kiddo, my sweet husband surprised me and came home from work this morning to bring me a caramel latte.
3. The 4 yr old has strep, but a relief that it wasnt mumps.
4. Have had several new areas of ministry open up.
5. Still so thankful and blessed by our house. We've only been here for three months but we love it so much!
We are wrapping up our Jan theme of Organization over at Domestically Divine Divas. Check out today's Friday Fave Five Organizational Blogs!

Friday's Fave Five
1. Celebrating my husband's 40th birthday...and actually pulling off a surprise party with around 35 people sneaking in here!

2. I have loved watching the 17 mo old as she has been attempting to "jump" this week :) So funny! She squats down real low and pops back up as far as she can. Her feet aren't even leaving the ground. Yet!
3. Had an impacted tooth and ended up having two taken out. Bummer, but tankful it wasn't as bad as it could have been. And its been a speedy recovery.
4. My niece had her twin baby girls a week ago today. They are both healthy & growing, and SO beautiful!

Friday's Fave Five
1. I was blessed to have a new friend come speak on couponing at our MOPS group.
2. Driving in the car by myself...no kids! Oh come on, you know there are days like that ;-)
3. Our new family room and study is complete. Fireplace, carpet, comfy furniture, books all shelved. Its so cozy and warm. All 5 of us love this room.
4. We are hosting a fajita dinner with dear friends tonight. I know it will be a great time...they are kindred spirits.
5. This morning I got to snuggle and rock the 4 yr old and 16 mo old at the same time. This never happens, as they are too busy being busy!

Friday's Fave Five - Dec 3rd, 2010

~Sometimes in our busy-ness, we tend to overlook or even take for granted what God does in our lives. So our Friday Five posts help remind us to have that moment of pause...to reflect over the past week and realize the blessings in our lives.~
1. watching and savoring the moment...of putting up the Christmas tree with the kids. Seems like such a pain to us, but they bring out the wonder & excitment of it. Seeing the 1 yr old's face light up in awe when Daddy plugged in the lights!

2. the rare opportunity to go out with my husband. True, it turned into a group thing, but was still nice. And this way, he knows he still owes me a date!
3. VIP tickets to Winter WonderSlam - TobyMac & Skillet concert. Super-fun show.
My ears are still bleeding.

4. when you get that "aha" moment while reading God's word. All of a sudden, your previous outlook is flawed...but His grace gives opportunity to change. And what makes it even better is sharing in the confirmation with a friend.

Friday's faves
A few highlights from this week:
1. Now that Keira is one, her vocabulary has doubled! I get the biggest kick out of hearing her say "look!" or "all done". She's even trying to say "elmo" and "cracker". So little and so sweet.
2. Our mops group started up for the fall last tuesday night. I love MOPS. Its like my own little mommy suport group. Friendships and food, free childcare, and most of all that having a place where its safe to be real, they're all mom's too, and know exactly the issues you are struggling with.
3. Ashleigh (our oldest) turned seven. How time has flown! We had a Fancy Nancy Tea Party, based on the books. Outdoors at the park, it was a gorgeous late summer day. There were seven little girls, all dressed-up in beads and boas and their mommy's high heels :) We decorated picture frames, posed for pics, made glass pendant necklaces, and had a lunch of ham&cheese/rolls, strawberries, and mini cupcakes. Was a day I'll never forget....and I'm sure Ashleigh won't either!

My week in a nutshell...
Sharing five high-lights from my week with you and the meme at Living To Tell the Story.
- We started school this week. Ash in 2nd grade and Logan in pre-k. I have to be honest, I stressed and almost dreaded this first week. But it has gone sooo good! Our schedule flowed. Kids have actually been getting along so much better this week. Less squabbles, less talking back. More obedience. And its been fun! For all of us :)
- I went to our first fall steering team meeting for MOPS. (mothers of preschoolers). Had such a good time planning September's meetings. Really looking fwd to MOPS starting next week and expecting God to meet a lot of moms there.
- The new Jeremy Camp worship cd. Need I say more?!
- Got to see my latest "secret project" come together and it looks SO good. I can hardly wait to reveal it to you :)
- Also, had another freelance writing job open up. Its a one time project, but a very cool one. Will be reading the galley for a new christian novel coming out, by a best-selling author. Then writing the discussion questions for the book.

Friday's Fave Five
1. been listening to the just-released cd by the Newsboys. Its a great album, that I wasn't sure I would like it since Peter F. is no longer their front-man. Michael Tait brings a dc talk flavor to the group.

2. making jam with my Mom...blackberry and blackberry peach.
3. I had a blog reader/comment all the way from Prince Edward Island!!! My favorite place in the whole world, ever since I was a little girl and read Anne of Green Gables. Such a simple, silly little thing, but it really made my week :) Sweet lady with a beautiful blog. Check her out... Island Sparrow.
4. Keira feeding herself with a spoon for the first time! She is quickly becoming a big girl...can't believe she is almost one.
5. P90x. This is week two of our workouts. Week three of our diet change. Fred & I both are wearing smaller shorts this week! I've lost 8 pounds so far! We love this workout. Its intense, but flexible and I love how it focuses on a diff area each day, so there's no chance of getting bored.

A few faves...
Sharing five of my favorite things from this past week. No matter how our week goes, there is always beauty in the simple moments. What were some of your favorite moments this week? Join with me at Living to Tell the Story.
1. Summer storms....and how quickly they end in such a beautiful way. The kids were so excited about seeing such a huge rainbow.
2. Youthful spirits
These two gentlemen were slowly strolling through the county fair, both eating orange popsicles! They made me smile. And miss my Dad.
3. Riding the carousel with Keira for the very first time. She was in awe all through the fair.
4. Making memories.... watching how sweet & grown-up my oldest "baby" is quickly becoming. So independent.
